    王选逝世

    得知王选院士逝世的消息，让我想起了一件往事。大概是95年，他刚当选为中科院院士不久，来我们学校访问。有人恭喜他被选为院士，他说自己很惭愧。看到大家都认为他在谦虚，他很认真的解释，说在中科院选举之前，有位老科学家提醒他应该提前打打招呼，申请申请。当时他很吃惊，没想到成为中科院院士需要自己申请的。
     
    他说中国的科学家里，如果有人但得起“院士”的称号，能只能是袁隆平（当时还不是院士），现在人家还不是，自己反倒先成了所谓院士，有什么可高兴的啊？
